Jennifer Burdick is currently President of CMK Associates, L.L.C., a human resources consulting and training company specializing in equal employment opportunity jenpiccompliance, investigations and training for small, developing companies, non-profit organizations and human relations commissions.  Ms. Burdick is also available as an Expert Witness or investigator for litigation under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and is a trained and experienced mediator in employment and business related disputes. Ms. Burdick has served as an evaluator for the Maryland Performance Excellence Awards, based on the Malcolm Baldrige Quality Standards.

 Ms. Burdick has also received training in the requirements for the Maryland Association of Nonprofit Organization’s Standards of Excellence.

 

Prior to forming her own business, Ms. Burdick was Executive Director of the Maryland Commission on Human Relations. Governor William Donald Schaefer appointed her in October 1987.    Ms. Burdick also served 11 years as an Investigator and as a State & Local Coordinator for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Baltimore District Office.

 

Ms. Burdick has a B.A. degree from Beloit College, Beloit, Wisconsin, and considerable postgraduate education in Economics, Equal Opportunity Law, Management, and Total Quality Management Practices. Ms. Burdick has completed the training requirements and serves as a Mediator of employment and business disputes in Maryland.

 

Ms. Burdick is active in the community and served as Board Member of the American Civil Liberties Union of Maryland;  Member of the Society for Human Resource Management and the Chesapeake Human Resource Association; Member of the Board of Directors of the Baltimore City Chamber of Commerce; Associate Member of the Maryland Association of Nonprofit Organizations.

 

Ms. Burdick was selected as one of “Maryland’s Top 100 Women for 1997, 1999, and 2001.  Having been selected three times, Ms. Burdick was inducted into the Circle of Excellence of Maryland Women.  Ms. Burdick was a member of the Leadership Maryland Class of 1994.   In 1999 Ms. Burdick was appointed by Governor Glendening to the Judicial Nominating Commission for Baltimore City. In 2000 Ms. Burdick was appointed to the Ad Hoc Committee on Small Business of the Baltimore City Council. In June 2010 Ms. Burdick was confirmed by the Baltimore City Council to serve on the Baltimore City Ethics Board.

 

An article, “Dealing with Employment Discrimination - What Does the Government Want?” was published in the May/June 1999 issue of the Maryland Bar Journal.  Ms. Burdick is a contributing author to the 2010 Edition of The Employment-Labor Law Audit (ELLA™).
